The FIFPRO Team of the World, an accolade bestowed by the Fédération Internationale de Football Professionnel (FIFPRO), recognizes the finest male and female footballers of the year. Originally known as the FIFPRO World 11, this prestigious honor was introduced in 2005 to celebrate the finest footballers as voted by their peers. In 2009, a partnership was forged with FIFA, resulting in a rebranding to the "FIFA FIFPRO World 11," commonly referred to as the FIFA Team of the Year, while maintaining the same voting structure. Effective from 2024, FIFPRO will once again independently oversee the award, reverting to its original title: the FIFPRO World 11.
The FIFPRO Team of the Year, chosen through ballots cast by professional players worldwide, stands as the sole global accolade entirely determined by the athletes themselves. The criteria for selecting the players are based on their performances from August 4, 2025, to July 19, 2026, with a minimum requirement of participation in 30 official matches during this period.
The final lineup of 11 players will consist of one goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, three forwards, with the remaining spot going to the non-goalkeeper player who receives the most votes.
